About the course

Course content

The course introduces the principles for preventive action both on individual and group levels. The teaching is concentrated on how the efficacy and the effectiveness of the actions could be studied and especially design, other than randomized studies, of evaluations of intervention on groups and population would be emphasized. The prerequisites of screenings program (and of systematic case-findings) and how to evaluate such programs will be introduced

Learning outcome

The students should know how to evaluate and study the efficacy and effectiveness of different preventive strategies as high-risk and population based strategies. They are expected to have knowledge on the prerequisites for screening of risks for diseases and of diseases

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, essays and group work. The lectures will take place the weeks the master program i Clinical Health Science. The subject will only be offered if enough students register.
If there are any English speaking students, the lectures will be given in English.
Form of assessment can be changed.

Required previous knowledge

Clinical Research and epidemiology.
