About the course
Course content
Students will learn about fundamental models of economic evaluation, including cost-effect and cost-benefit analysis. The focus of the course is on how one defines and calculates costs; i.e. marginal vs average costs, type of costs included, how to value costs, how to discount future costs, and how to deal with uncertainty. The course also touches upon fundamental methods for the measurement of health effects.
The course is designed for student who will include an economic evaluation in their master thesis, or other who conduct studies where economic evaluation is included.
Learning outcome
Students shall be familiar will fundamental principles for economic evaluation.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and group sessions. The lectures will take place the weeks the master program of Clinical health science has intensive education. The subject will only be offered if enough students register.
If there are any english speaking students, the lectures will be given in english. Compulsory assignments: Student must be present at lectures. Form of assessment can be changed.
