Course content
Course description:
Regular research seminars given as lectures and excercises, covering the following subjects:
(1)External conditions.
(2)Study hypothesis.
(3)Literature search.
(4)Study design of research experiment.
(5)Other designs.
(6)Summing up the semester.
(7)Basic statistics.
(8)The writing process.
(9)Summing up the course.
In addition there will be a continuous process of practical project adaption.
Learning outcome
Course objectives:
The aim of the course is to teach the student how to recognize the different components in a research process. He/she should be able to participate in a research project under supervision. These skills will help the student in further research work, like getting admitted to a PhD program. The submitted work should be of good enough quality to support av real clinical project.
Learning methods and activities
Seminars. Problem-based learning and work on the student´s own research project.
10 daily seminars (5 hours), given as lectures and supervised excercises in groups.
Recommended previous knowledge
Recommended prerequisites:
The student should bring a plan or an idea of a research project to be worked on during the course.
Required previous knowledge
Admission requirements:
Health professional (Medical Doctor, Psychologist, nurse with specialisation etc.)
2 years of clinical experience, being employed in Helse Midt-Norge.
