Course - Corrosion of Steel in Concrete Structures - KT8205
Corrosion of Steel in Concrete Structures
About
About the course
Course content
Introduction to electrochemistry and corrosion theory. Mechanisms of concrete damages. Inspection and control of concrete structures - both field and laboratory methods. Maintenance and repair of structures subject to reinforcement corrosion.
Learning outcome
The course gives information about maintenance and repair of concrete structures - especially focused on corrosion of embedded steel. A thourough introduction are presented to the electrochemical principles both for corrosion of reinforcing steel and to the use of electrochemical methods for mainentance or repair of concrete structures.
