Course content

In what way is the geographical location important as context for the exhibitions arranged in museums and other show rooms?
That does it mean for the changeable art topography of Berlin, that the exhibitions are showed right here? And how is the art historic-, cultural historic-, and contemporary art scene rooted in the different institutional contexts of the city? With Berlin as example, this course will give the students' insight into different genres of exhibition: How does an exhibition present a certain message and content visually? In this regard, the course goes through the idea, aesthetic and communication of exhibitions, as well as theoretical perspectives on analysis.
