About the course

Course content

This course is an introduction to the Latin language and Roman culture, with a focus on basic grammar and vocabulary.

Learning outcome

Students should acquire basic knowledge of Latin grammar and vocabulary, and practice in translating Latin texts at an elementary level.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures and seminars, compulsory tests of grammar and vocabulary that must be passed before the final written exam. In this exam the students are to translate curriculum texts and manage grammatical analyses of the texts.

Compulsory assignments

  • Written exercises in morphology and vocabulary tests
