About the course
Course content
This course offers an introduction to classical prose and to Latin syntax and style at an advanced level.
Learning outcome
Students should acquire an understanding og tecniques for translating between Latin and Norwegian and vice versa. They should improve their knowledge of grammar and style and knowledge of different genres in classical prose.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures. In the final exam the student is to translate curriculum texts and answer questions related to the texts.

Course materials
Ca 30 pages of prose from the Late Roman republic and the Early Empire. Different literary genres will be presented. The texts are studied against their historical background.
