About the course
Course content
The course is taught every fourth year, if there are enough students, next time Spring 2011. If there are few students, there will be guided self-study. There can be variations in the content of the course, but
it should include affine and projective varieties, divisors, regular and rational maps, regular and singular points, resolution of singularities and the Riemann-Roch theorem for curves, elliptic curves.

Recommended previous knowledge
MA3201 Rings and Modules and MA3202 Galois theory. Students need also to have basic knowledge of commutative algebra.
