About the course

Course content

In the first semester, the students should learn most of the necessary biochemistry and cell biology. This semester is also an introduction to medical terminology related to both basal and clinical topics. The students have seminars and lectures on medical ethics. There are trainings in communication between health personnel and patients.
The second semester starts with anatomy courses where the local motor system is central (musculoskeletal system). This semester also includes the functions of three main organ systems: The heart, the lungs and the digestive system. The students get lectures about some common diseases, and there are clinical examination courses which correspond to the main topics of the semester.

There are several learning objectives related to the semester subjects. These objectives are printed in the handbook for this line of study and shall be available on the web.

Problem-based learning (PBL), lectures (basal and clinical), courses, seminars, clinical examination and communication courses, visits to general practitioners.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Medisinstudiet (CMED)

Required previous knowledge

Certificate from secondary school is required. Applicants must also document their relevant education. Advanced courses in mathematics, physics and chemistry are also required.
