Course content

Short introduction to anatomy and physiology in cardiovascular circulation and muscle work. Functional consequences for training design. Effective training and responses to training endurance and muscle strength. Changes in performance, health and consequences for aging and quality of life.

Learning outcome

To understand basic mechanisms for cardiovascular circulation and muscle function, and to understand effective training interventions to enhance physical performance, improve health, ease aging and improve quality of life.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures. Laboratory demonstrations. Practical training. Mandatory: Approved written rapport.
