Course content

Initiation and growth of fatigue cracks. Fatigue at notches. Probabalistic fatigue design. Finite element based fatigue assessment.

Learning outcome

To be able to develop and use advanced methods for the prediction of strength and life of mechanical components under fatigue loading.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures and project work to be presented at seminar. If there are less than three participants, lectures and seminars will be replaced by a self-study programme.
