About

About the course

Course content

This course adresses advanced modelling of machinery systems and discusses the development of state space models using the bond graph methodology. The following main topics are discussed:
- Multiport generalisation of basic bond graph elements
- Modeling of thermofluid systems with examples from hydraulic systems, boilers, engines, compressors, gas turbines and heat exchangers.
- Modeling of distributed parameter systems with examples from structural and hydraulic systems
- Modeling of electrical components and systems
Modeling and simulation laboratory.

Learning outcome

The objective is to give the students necessary background to develop mathematical and physically based models for analysis of machinery systems.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, exercises, computerlab and projects.
