Modelling and Analysis of Machinery Systems 2
About
About the course
Course content
The course gives an introduction to analysis of dynamic processes in thermal systems using real working fluid properties. Examples illustrating the methods are mainly taken from internal combustion engines and combined power production systems
The following topics are covered:
- Equations of state for real media
- Phase equilibrium and chemical equilibrium
- Thermodynamic relations
- Elements of a simulation model for a diesel engine: combustion, heat transport, mass transport and gas exchange
- Simulation of diesel engine processes
- Parameterestimation, analysis of processes based on measurement of processes
- Dynamic processes in vapor-liquid system
