About
About the course
Course content
The course is given every. The course includes analysis of some processes for ferroalloy production. Both slag bearing and slag free reduction and refining processes for production of Mn- and Si-alloys are treated. Phase relations, distribution equilibria, kinetical issues and process mechanisms are discussed. The importance of various process parameters are evaluated in view of theoretical aspects.
Learning outcome
The course aims at giving a deeper theoretical understanding of the electro-metallurgical processes for ferroalloy production.
