Course content
The course is given every second year, next time will be spring 2011.
Nondestructive testing, fractography, ductile and brittle fracture, fatigue, corrosion, wear, hydrogen degradation, metalworking defects, casting defects, and defects related to heat treatment and welding.
Learning outcome
Give an overview of the most common failure mechanisms in metals.

The course is based on TMT4240 Microstructure and properties of metals and TMT4300 Light and electron microscopy.
