About the course

Course content

The course aims to mirror music's various means of expression and ability to cross the borders of time and genre through performances. Improvisation is essential.

Compulsory course in Choral Conducting includes musical instruction as well as conducting teqniques.

Learning outcome

The course is designed to stimulate and develop the students' musical intuition and expression through awareness and practice linked to the basic musical elements of melody, rhythm, sound, harmony, and form.

Learning methods and activities

1.5 hours of group instruction a week for 27 weeks.
Compulsory course in Choral Conducting: Seminar. 1-2 hours per week during one semester.

  • Satisfactory participation in compulsory instruction
  • Course in Choral Conducting

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Musikk, utøvende (BMUSP)

Required previous knowledge

Requires admission to the Bachelor's programme in Music Performance Studies.
