Course content
The main objective of the course is to provide an introduction to the music history of western culture, from the Middle Ages until today.

The main objective of the course is to provide an introduction to the music history of western culture, from the Middle Ages until today. The course should give the student a fundamental knowledge of music from various eras.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures - 2 hours per week for 27 weeks.
Each term ends with a written examination (4 hours). Both tests must be passed prior to course completion.
Compulsory assignments
- Satisfactory participation in compulsory instruction

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Musikk, utøvende (BMUSP)
Required previous knowledge
Requires admission to the Bachelor's programme in Music Performance Studies.
