Course content
Individual lectures and independent work on the instrument. In addition, the student must participate as a soloist or with chamber-music in a minimum of three public concerts, including one concert organised by Department of music
Compulsory course in Music Presentation:
The course includes subjects such as concert arranging, scene performance, program planning, performance preparations, communication, the role of the manager, the role of the music producer, the newspaper critic, target audiences etc. The student will gain experience in preparation, implementation, and evaluation through practical work connected with a series of concerts at the conservatory as well as independent concerts or presentation assignments. Each student will submit a project report by the end of the course.
Learning outcome
The course aims to enable students to perform and communicate music at an advanced level both as a soloist and as part of various ensembles.
Learning methods and activities
Individual tutoring: 1 lesson a week for 27 weeks.
Interpretation - 2 group lessons for 20 weeks.
Ensemble - 2 group lessons for 10 weeks.
Interpretation and ensemble offerings may be rearranged.
Accompaniment (se previous overwiew).
Project - various forms of instruction.
Compulsory course in Music Presentation:
Instruction: Lectures on selected themes (see Academic content).
The amount of instruction may vary from year to year, but will consist of approximately 1 lesson a week. There will also be tutoring in connection with concerts and projects.
A project report must be submitted before April 30th.
