About the course

Course content

The course includes the study of literature about chamber music that covers epochs essential to the student's primary instrument. Chamber groups will be constructed in the most practical way each year, for example contemporary ensembles, baroque-ensembles, trios, quartets and similiar ensembles. The student must perform at minimum one concert in addition to the practical examination.


Learning outcome

The course will provide the student with the chance for further study in the distinctive character of the ensemble, related musical styles, and ways of interpretation.

Learning methods and activities

Instruction in chamber music 1 lesson a week for 27 weeks.
Program for the examination concert and the studied repertoire must be delivered before April 1st.

Compulsory assignments

  • Participation at 1 concert
  • Satisfactory participation in compulsory instruction
  • Studied repertoire 60 minutes

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Musikk, utøvende (BMUSP)

Required previous knowledge

Requires passed MUSP4120 or corresponding course.
