About the course

Course content

This subject includes chambermusic- repertoire and litterature from essential epokes for the students instruments.

Theory and analysis of compositions important to the ensemble will be studied. The subject is primarly offered to established ensembles, not to one student without an ensemble. The ensemble should be sentral and natural for the instruments, for exampel contemporary music ensembles, baroque-ensembles, trios, quartets and similar.

Learning outcome

The course will develop student's ability to interact musically with other musicians and vocalists in an active, listening, and flexible way.

Learning methods and activities

Instruction in chamber music - 2 lessons a week for 20 weeks.
Group lecturing, theory and analysis of important works of chamber music - 10 lessons in total.
The ensemble must perform two self-arranged concerts. A repertoire list, concert report, and examination program must be submitted for teacher approval prior to April 1st.
Essay: Each student must write an essay on an individually selected piece of chamber music.
Scope: 5-10 typed A4 pages with 1.5 spacing, size 12, and standard margins.

  • Two concerts organized by the ensemble
  • Minimum 90 minutes of studied repertoire
  • Satisfactory participation in compulsory instruction

Requires passed MUSP4135 or corresponding course.
