About the course
Course content
Individual lessons and independent work og the organ. In addition the student must participate as a soloist or with chamber-music in a minimum of three public concerts, including one concert organised by Department of music. The course also includes ensemble- and accompaniment practice.
Compulsory course in Liturgic Playing/Organ Improvisation B:
The course involves practice and awareness related to the skills required for sermon playing, in addition to an understanding of the particularities of congregation singing, and how this can be promoted through vivid and engaging organ playing. The course also includes practice in improvisational skills required in liturgic organ playing, such as modulation, transposition, simple intonations and extempore harmonisation.
Learning outcome
The individual instruction should in addition to a development of skills and knowledge of a varied repertoire develop the students own artistic abilities and musical personality.
Learning methods and activities
Individual instruction - 1 hour pr. week for 27 weeks.
Interpretation - Two 1-hour group sessions for 20 weeks.
Project - various instruction.
Compulsory course in Liturgic Playing/Organ Improvisation B:
Group instruction - 2.5 hours pr. week for 27 weeks.
