About the course
Course content
Specific practical work in a recording studio is central to this course. The course is comprised of the following main elements: Recording and processing/work with sound (e.g. room and instrument acoustics, microphones, multiple track technique, analog/digital processing). Sound aesthetics, different sound ideals. Producer tasks.
Learning outcome
The course should provide the student with a fundamental theoretical insight into studio technique, and practical experience as sound technician/music producer.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures directed at practical work in studio: 2 hours per week for 12 weeks during autumn and 13 weeks during spring. Group instruction and exercises.
Assessment: The students shall during the last term complete a studioproduction in addition to a practial examination in studio, duration 1 hour. All components of the assessment must be passed. If you fail on one part of the examination you must retake the part which you have failed.

Musikkteknologi (BMUST)
Required previous knowledge
Admission to the Bachelor's programme in Music Technology.
The course has restricted admission.
