Course content
Digital signal processing with a specific focus on audio signals.
General principles for digital representation, analysis and
processing. Classical signal processing techniques like FFT, granular
techniques, modulation, filtering and audio effects are covered.
Emphasis is put on listening, with training on recognition of the
different techniques used.
Learning outcome
The course should give the student an understanding of basic techniques of digital signal processing, with a special focus on audio signals.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures 2 hours per week for 12 weeks. Compulsory assignments and lab work. Midterm examination will be a practical assignment where the result is presented as for example a report. All components of the assessment must be passed. If you fail on one part of the examination you must retake the part which you have failed.
