About the course

Course content

The course is based on Practical Studies I and II. The various studies are carried on.

Learning outcome

The course continues the main objective of MUSV1015 and MUSV1016, with instruction in principal instrument and aural training.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, group- and individual instruction.

Compulsory activities:
To pass the course the student must attend a minimum of 80% of the lectures. In aural training there is a practical test in addition to submitting of up to 6 written assignments. The assignments will be assessed with approved/not approved. Aural training has to be approved in order to take the final examination on the principal instrument.
Students who are not registered for the course do not have the right to practical instruction.

Assessment: The course concludes with a practical examination on the principal instrument. The duration of the practical examination is approximately 20 minutes. If the student fail to attend principal instrument lectures after the department's appointment of a principal instrument teacher, the student will lose the right to take the final examination.

Required previous knowledge

Admission to the Bachelor's programme in Musicology. Passed MUSV1015 and MUSV1016.
