Course content

The course is based on studies within literature, music and/or other relevant material for the current topics or thematic area.
The topic can be from all parts of musicology, such as ethnomusicology, folk music, popular music, music in movies, history of music, music pedagogy and so forth.
The specific academic content is determined by the instruction currently offered, which varies from semester to semester.

Learning outcome

The objective is to strengthen scientific competence through the course of letting problems connected with research and methods form a starting point for an in depth study of a concentrated topic or thematic area within the field of musicology.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures and a reading list combined with a syllabus on analysis and practical exercises, where this is relevant for the content and focus of the course.

Required previous knowledge

EXFAC0011 and MUSV1011 or equivalent.
