About the course
Course content
The course is designed in part as a discussion of theories and directions of musicology, and in part as an introduction to relevant methods, techniques and approaches within musicology. During lectures, relevant international literature on musicology, dealing with music history, ethnomusicology and music theory will be discussed based on different scientific traditions.
Learning outcome
The objective of the course is to strengthen the students' ability to critical reflection through studies of both traditional and more recent musicological ways of thinking.

Lectures.
Assessment: The home examination should have a maximum length of 13-15 pages (typed 1,5/12pt)
Recommended previous knowledge
MUSV2011 and MUSV2013 and MUSV2018 and MUSV2019.
