About the course
Course content
The curriculum covers literature in the areas of analysis, theory, and history. A historical perspective is primarily developed in connection to analytical and theoretical issues of 20th century visual culture. In addition to academic literature, the curriculum also includes several film, video, and television productions.
Learning outcome
The course continues and further develops issues from the course MV1001 Visual Communication. During the course students will gain insight into both the aesthetics of visual media and aesthetic communication. Students will learn to understand various visual products as communication media and products of significance, and will learn to view these products as filtered through the lens of cultural history and the philosophy of art. This will be achieved through thematic lectures and a selection of sample material.

Lectures and seminars.
Compulsory assignment:
Students must pass an oral presentation with written documentation before final assessment can be made.
More on the form of assessment:
The method of assessment will be a 6 hour written examination.
Students are required to pay attention to the results of exercise assignments on the department bulletin boards.
The students are required to keep posted on relevant messages from the department or the teacher at It's learning and Innsida, alternatively at course web pages or bulletin boards.
