About the course
Course content
A study of a selection of Scandinavian literary works and a selection of relevant theoretical texts. The content of the course will change from semester to semester.
Learning outcome
The course aims at providing students with a deeper understanding of a defined topic in Norwegian or Scandinavian literature based on competence related both to literary texts and literary theory.
Learning methods and activities
Form of instruction: Lectures/group sessions. Tutoring. Course requirement: Approved reading list. Form of assessment: 14 day long home exam with tutoring. Extent of paper should be 12 - 15 pages.

NORD1102, NORD1104, NORD1106 and 1108 or equivalent.
Required previous knowledge
None.
Course materials
The reading list consists of 10 works, and at least 3, but no more than 5 of these must be of a theoretical nature. One work of theory is defined as a text/texts counting at least 150 pages. The rest of the works on the reading list will consist of fiction. The curriculum could center on e.g. one authorship, a literary epoch, a genre, a theme or theoretical perspective. It is expected that the students read necessary secondary literature in connection to the literary texts on the reading list.
