Course content
Literary variant:
The readings consist of 7 fictional works and 3 theoretical works connected to a major area of study that is not related to the masters thesis. The course may thematically correspond to NORD2000-courses.
Linguistic variant:
Student compose a individual reading lists of approx. 900 pages which can be thematically related to the masters thesis. This is a theoretical specialization course, and it can be thematically related to the NORD2000 courses
Learning outcome
Literary variant:
The course aims to provide students with a comprehensive academic understanding of a defined topic in Norwegian or Nordic literature on the basis of acquired textual and theoretical competence. After completed studies, the candidate should be able to develop a 30-minute lecture based on the individually selected set of readings. The lecture must have an academic content adapted to advanced students in this field.
Linguistic variant:

Lectures and group sessions. Individual supervision.
Course requirements:
Approved reading list and submitted Masters thesis.
Form of assessment:
14-days take-home exam, which the student will present in the form of a 30-minute lecture. After the lecture, the candidate answers questions from the exam commission related to the lecture.

Specific conditions
Admission to a programme of study is required:
Lektorutdanning i språkfag (MLSPRÅK)
Nordisk språk og litteratur (MNORD)
Required previous knowledge
Admission to the Master's programme in Nordic, and passed exam in either NORD3101/SPRÅK3000 or NORD3201/LITT3000, and either NORD3102 or NORD3202 or NORD3100.
