About

About the course

Course content

The course looks beyond the individual perspective to understand the concept of the person in larger contexts that also include the transpersonal dimension. Both context and situation shape the background of developmental and “wholeness” understanding. Among other things, focus is put on how the counsellor is able to understand and influence a system, so that the relationship between the individual and the system is deemed satisfactory. How can the counsellor help the client to see and develop her/himself as an essential part of various systems? Students are expected to be active and to participate in various learning processes that promote an overall understanding of the concept of ”person in relation”. The development of counselling skills and the utilization of theories based in Psychosynthesis and Gestalt are central to this course.

Learning outcome

Students will learn how to guide more holistically; where the inclusion of thoughts, feelings and body language form a basis for the counselling process. The aim is to achieve larger degree of awareness about and integration of resources and contexts.
