Modern manufacturing companies handle the issues of product development, production and operations management as highly integrated and interdependent activities which require coordination and a systematic approach. In the changing global markets the ability to be responsive to rapid changes in market demands is vital factor. Additionally, manufacturing enterprises operates closely with partners in networks and supply chain systems which imply that manufacturing has moved towards the optimization of their total network which leads to a complex situation.
This course focuses on highly flexible, reconfigurable and automated manufacturing processes in networks, the development of competitive industry in this setting, and how they are implemented in modern manufacturing companies.
