About the course

Course content

The course provides specialization within key perspectives on manufacturing strategy; choice of manufacturing technology, value chain structure, localization, control model, and manufacturing strategy. For each of the perspectives, detailed and advanced problems will be discussed, but the course will also focus on how these areas are integrated and should be developed in a coherent fashion.

The NORMAN PhD School gives a total of 15 SPs, of which the remaining 7,5 SPs come from choosing one of the participating department's (IPK, IPM, IØT) relevant regular PhD courses.

The course will provide a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by companies when choosing/developing their manufacturing strategy, and how a number of dimensions depend on each other and must be consideres in a holistic manner.
