About the course

Course content

The course aims to provide a broad overview of social science research methods and methodologies.

Learning outcome

The objective of the course is to help students begin a research process that will eventually result in a completed thesis. The course provides students with an introduction to basic philosophy of science issues as well as methods and techniques that can be used to construct a research design.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures/group discussions, 4 hours per week throughout the semester.

The course is reserved for students admitted to a a particular programme. Exchange students interested in the course must consult the Departement for possible admission.

Specific conditions

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Industrial Ecology (MSINDECOL)
Statsvitenskap (MPOL)

Required previous knowledge

POL1001 and POL1002 or the equivalent.
