About the course

Course content

The course covers theory and empirics linked to the formulation and implementation of policy aimed at micro and macro level governance in a national context. The theory is based on international literature on governance and the empirical content will to a large extent be Norwegian.

Learning outcome

The course aims at providing the student with specialized knowledge on the formulation, implementation and impacts of national policy within a political economy framework.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures / group discussions 4 hours per week. Supervision of term paper. The essay is to be an independent discussion of a topic thaught in lectures, and is to consist of 20 pages.
If 6 or fewer students sign up for a planned course during the first 2 teaching weeks, the course will be offered as an instructed reading course.

Required previous knowledge

Master's degree in Political Science or equivalent.
