About the course

Course content

The beginning point for this course is theories associated with Social Psychology. The spotlight focuses on media reception (interpretation, learning and memory) the influence of media on individuals and groups (attribution, attitudes, persuasion and anti-social behavior) and the relationship between mass communication and personal communication.

Learning outcome

The course objective is to give an introduction to different theories of the audience based on media science and psychology, a discussion of the central concepts used to evaluate the influence of the media, and an insight into the central traditions and developmental features.
