Course content

This is an advanced course in social psychology. Relevant topics include social inferences, decisions and choices, attitude formation and social influence.

Learning outcome

Knowledge:

The student has in-depth knowledge of social psychology with an emphasis on select central topics from social influence, social behavior, group processes and linguistic communication.

The student has in-depth knowledge of select topics including attitude formation and change, social inferences, decisions and choices, social exclusion, environmental behavior and judgement of risk, and language as a social tool.

The student has broad knowledge of how social psychological processes can vary within and between societies and cultures.

Skills:

The student can analyze and apply important theories and findings within the discipline and reflect independently about the behavior of individuals and groups and its underlying causes.

General competence:

The student can reflect critically about how humans think and function as social beings, both in groups and in society at large. The student knows how to critically evaluate social psychological research and communicate about issues within the discipline.
