Course content

Theoretical and prectical introduction to planning, implementation, reporting, and evaluation of psychological research. The course covers experimental designs, experimental artefacts and bias, questionnaire construction and guides to structured interviewing, ethical considerations, and analyses of published research.

Learning outcome

Knowledge: The student knows how to design and implement psychological research projects.The student knows how to design experiments. The student knows how to construct questionnaires and guides to structured interviews for use in surveys. The student has knowledge on factors that affect reliability and validity in various research designs.The student is familiar with the scientific ethics guidelines.Skills: The student has developed and evaluated various research designs in order to solve psychological research questions in practice.The student has applied ethical guidelines to experimental and survey research.General competence: The student has developed the ability to reflect upon and to think critically on how to design and implement psychological research projects.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, seminar, project work.Some lectures might be given in english.

Required previous knowledge

PSY1011 or equivalent.
