About

About the course

Course content

This course is designed to be a short introduction to what is involved in every one of the
separate areas in the title. Students will work on a relevant subject in groups throughout the entire semester. Instruction begins with a week-long assembly (5 entire days at the beginning of the semester). In the course of the first four days, instruction will take place in every one of the three main areas and this will be done through both formal teaching and group discussion. The final day will be devoted to selecting the subject which students will work on in groups throughout the rest of the semester. Thereafter, students will do group problem solving/designs for their own work which will be presented at a plenary session on a later day-long meeting. Groups will continue to work with these subjects and will present a mid-semester report at a second day-long meeting. A third day-long meeting will be held at the end of the semester where groups will present their finished report in the form of a paper or a poster and their projects will be subject to critique by other students. These opponents will be selected from another group by the teacher.
