About the course

Course content

The course is a basic course in cognitive/biological Psychology. The course gives an introduction to the biological/cognitive basis for experience and behavior which includes the entire range of human knowledge from attention, sensation, perception, activity, speech processes, problem solving ability and current thinking on learning and memory. The course gives students information about the central concepts, subjects, problems and empirical research in cognitive/biological Psychology. Students not holding a bachelor degree in psychology will be recommended some extra literature in addition to the regular syllabus.

Learning outcome

Creation of the foundation for developing a scientific basis in theoretical subjects in Cognitive and Biological Psychology.

Learning methods and activities

Block instruction: Lectures, seminars, supervision, field work, individual study.
The course is reserved for students admitted to a particular programme. Exchange students interested in the course must consult the Department for possible admission.
