Course content
PSYPRO4010 is a basic course in the theory and methodology of cognitive psychology. Cognitive psychology covers the whole span of human cognitive acts from the awakening of attention, sensing, perception, language processes, problem solving and thinking, through to learning and memory. The two central themes of the course are the study of generally applicable laws and the study of individual differences. It will also contain an introduction to general testing theory, use of cognitive tests and cognitive diagnostics.
Learning outcome
The course will give the students knowledge of the most important concepts and issues in modern cognitive theory, which is about how we receive, interpret, manipulate, use and retain information.

Lectures, seminar and group work. Tutorials.
The course requires admission to the 6 year clinical psychologist programme.
