About the course

Course content

The course provides an introduction into parts of the human being’s anatomy and physiology, including the principles of the central nervous system and conceptions about sensory systems. Synaptic transmission is examined in relative detail. A brief introduction to cell biology, genetics, endocrinology and immunology is also provided. A course in brain dissection is included.

Learning outcome

The teaching will provide the students with knowledge about the basic construction of the nervous system and function at the cell level and at the system level.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, exercises and group discussions.

The course requires admission to the 6 year clinical psychologist programme.
