About the course

Course content

This course on work and organisational psychology includes teaching that will deal with issues in working life where (clinical)psychological skills and qualifications are important. This applies for example to areas such as business culture, organisational change, sickness absence, working environment, health and safety, recruitment, management and personal development.

The content of this course overlap to some degree with PSY1050 Personnel Psychology, but the form of examination different. No exemption is therefore awarded for the course.

Learning outcome

The students will gain a general insight into the main historical and updated theories in organisational psychology within a clinical perspectiv.

The students must demonstrate that they have reflected upon and studied at least one theme in greater depth, based on which they will write a semester assignment dealing with, for example, business culture, organisational change, sickness absence, working environment, recruitment, mental health in working life, personnel psychology, management or personnel development.

The students will be given practice in making presentations based on their own reflections on the selected issues.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures. Student presentations.

The course requires admission to the 6 year clinical psychologist programme.

Compulsory assignments

  • Own presentations
  • Minimum 80 % attendance to other students presentations
