About the course
Course content
Common perspectives on mental problems will be introduced, focusing on adults. The course relates to students experiences in In-house Clinical Practice II. The course will impart a critical understanding of central theoretical perspectives on the development of mental troubles and provide an empirical basis for psychotherapeutic treatment. The course will also focus on developing and forming a deeper understanding of practical psychological skills in psychotherapy and will provide the basis for advisory work with relatives, other clinicians, institutional staff, teachers etc.
Learning outcome
The course will provide an introduction into the most important approaches, including various diagnostic methods, within the clinical specialism. Several theoretical models will be examined and related to current therapeutic methods in use in the field.

Lectures, seminars and exercises with individual tutorials.
The course requires admission to the 6 year clinical psychologist programme.
