About the course

Course content

This course describes the ideas, culture and trends
in social historical aspects within the development of the natural sciences particularly after the Enlightenment.

Learning outcome

To acquire basic knowledge of the historical the development of natural sciences, particulary the Enlightenment.

Learning methods and activities

10 weeks: 2 hours per week lectures, 2 hours per week
student led seminar (with lecturer present). Might include historical experiments and excursions. About 5 weeks supervised term dissertation on a given topic. Approved participation during seminars (including presentation), presentation of term dissertation and 80% attendence is required. English lectures on request. Restricted admission, 20 places.
