About the course

Course content

The content of the course module is theories of learning such as constructivism, sociocultural views of learning, learning as situated practice and experience-based learning.Furthermore, it contains views on the relationship between experiment and theory in science and teaching, and the significance of language and argumentation.

Learning outcome

The student should acquire insight in current perspectives on knowledge and learning in the natural sciences, and get an overview of how these have developed in science education as an international research area, and its influence on practice in the school subjects.
