About the course

Course content

The course module cover various perspectives from the philosophy of technology, including view on technology as an area of knowledge, the relation between tecnology and science, driving forces in the development of technology and technology as an mediator in society. It is emphasised how these views are reflected in approaches to technology education, such as STS (Science-Technology-Society),, "Design & Technology", technology teaching in the context of science teaching and of "teknik" as a subject area.

Learning outcome

The student shall get acknowledged with key perspectives on technology as a field of knowledge. Furthermore, the student shall acquire an overview over possible approaches to technology as a subject of teaching in schools, and the ideologies underpinning thee approaches
