About the course
Course content
The course serves as preparation for the master's thesis. Crucial is the question: What is necessary to accomplish a research project? The course will make aware of different types of material in use in research, how to analyze each type appropriately, and also provide a overview of relevant methods of research and the consequences the choice of method has for the outcome of a project.
Learning outcome
The course aims at equipping the student with an understanding of the methods and materials that concrete research projects in religion demand, and to provide basic knowledge about various methods and types of material that may prove useful. The description of the grading scale is found on the department's web pages and in hard copy.
Learning methods and activities
The instruction consists of lectures and seminars with an emphasis on the latter. In order to take the exam a project description of the masters thesis must be submitted and approved by the tutor. The exam consists of two written assignments (each 3000-4000 words). Information on deadlines is provided at the start of the semester.

Bachelor degree in Religious studies, or equivalent.
