About the course

Course content

During the seminar period students write an essay based on the experience, knowledge and skills they have developed during the course of their studies for the BA. The essay may form the basis for a project proposal for the Master’s degree discussing the themes the student wishes to explore for the Master’s dissertation. The other remaining exams in the obligatory courses will be taken in the same semester as this course, at the latest.

Learning outcome

To develop individual skills in discussing and writing about central social anthropological topics and perspectives.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures/seminars, oral and written assignments (approx. 20 hours).
Oral presentation in seminar.
Essay (10 pages, about 3800 words).
Deadline for essay: spring term June 1./autumn term December 1.
