About the course

Course content

The course examines man’s transformation of nature, ecological adaptation, the environmental implications of different social forms, and the prerequisites for sustainable development. The course illustrates variations in the relationship between people and nature and the different cultural conceptualizations of this relationship.

Learning outcome

To develop a basic understanding of analytical approaches to the relationship between the human beings and their natural environment.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures/seminars (approx. 16 hours).
Oral exam.
