Course content

Course description:
Study design: cohort and case-control studies. Bias and confounding, interactions and effect modification. Analyses of epidemiological data: simple analyses, and multi-variable regression techniques (linear regression, logistic and cox regression), missing data, cluster data and measurement error.

Learning outcome

Course objectives:
The aim of the course is to provide the student with an understanding of study designs in epidemiology, including common problems like bias and confounding. The student will also learn to use the most common multi-variable analysis techniques in epidemiology.

Admission requirements:
Master degree or similar. Medical students at The Student Research Programme. Candidates with a lower degree will be assessed individually.
